Montecarlo to Dolceacqua:
Difficulty Level:

Distance: Round Trip of 65 Km.
What you'll see on the way:

View of the Bay

View from Above Menton

First Foray into Italy

Just Passing Through

View from over the River
Departing from outside the Casino Square in Montecarlo, we'll cycle along the seafront towards Italy. Traffic in the morning is quiet as commuters are headed the opposite way towards Monaco. Cycling to the Cap of Cap-Martin you'll get into the beautiful seaside town of Menton. Keep cycling along the water and you'll soon be at the crossing to Italy. The road soon starts climbing at about 5-6% for a few km and then you'll cycle down into Ventimiglia. Here you'll have the chance of either continuing on the road inland or take a little known cycle path along the river which later becomes a gravel road. Climbing at 9% as you ride past fields and the river you'll soon be in the medieval village of Dolceacqua.
Alternative Option: If you are "up to it", the ride can be extended for another 5.5km (and 180 mt more of elevation) to the stunning neighbouring village of Rocchetta Nervina and one of it's restaurants serving delicious local dishes.
Our Rates:
1) Ride only: 70€ / Person
2) Ride, Aperitif or Coffee and Lunch (Fixed Menu): 110€ / Person
Menton to Perinaldo:
Difficulty Level:

Distance: Round Trip of 58 Km.
What you'll see on the way:

Menton Garavan

The "Entroterra" in Italy

We'll start cycling from the Marina in Menton and cross into Italy straight away. Riding along the Via Aurelia we'll reach Ventimiglia and the holiday town of Vallecrosia. Here we can stop for coffee and croissant before getting back on our bikes and onto the hilly inland. Olive groves all around you and many hairpin turns later we'll be in the leafy old village of Perinaldo, where we can stop and leave the bicycles on the main square at about 590mt a.s.l. The local restaurants offer spectacular views and excellent menus. On the return cycling run you can: cycle back down by the road you took up, or descend through Soldano, Biagio della Cima and then to Ventimiglia.
Our Rates:
1) Ride only: 70€ / Person
2) Ride, Aperitif or Coffee and Lunch (Fixed Menu): 110€ / Person
Monaco / Montecarlo to Col de la Madone:
Difficulty Level:

Distance: Round Trip of 42 Km.
What you'll see on the way:

Rendez-vous with our bicycles in front of the Town Hall of Beausoleil. Two options here:
1- We start cycling up towards the village of La Turbie and then to Madone descending to Sainte-Agnès and Menton
or:
2- We ride down to Monaco (only a few metres away) and turn our bikes towards Menton. The main road follows the coastline. Once in Menton we cycle up to Madone through Saint-Agnès. We'll then descend to La Turbie and back to Beausoleil.
For option n°1 we'll park the bikes in La Turbie (about 450mt a.s.l.) for coffee and croissant before getting onto the sharp turn towards Peille. After a few km of slight ascent the climbing really starts going towards the 925mt a.s.l. of the Col. Descending towards Sainte-Agnès we can stop for lunch at one of the restaurants with spectaculars views at 750mt a.s.l. and delicious menus of traditional local dishes. After an espresso we head back down to Menton and Beausoleil.
For option n°2 we'll stop for a light breakfast at Menton and then cycle up to Sainte-Agnès before reaching Col de la Madone. (The road between Sainte-Agnès and Col de la Madone requires either a careful descent or at least a gravel bike or mtb because of the rougher and less maintained tarmac. With a standard road bike, it is advisable to choose this second option). From Madone down to La Turbie is a fast descent. Once in La Turbie we can have lunch there before cycling back to base camp in Beausoleil.
Our Rates:
1) Ride only: 70€ / Person
2) Ride, Coffee and Lunch (Fixed Menu): 110€ / Person
Monaco / Montecarlo to Baiardo:
Difficulty Level:

Distance: Round Trip of 60 or 120km
What you'll see on the way:

Now, this is a very interesting ride. And there are quite a few options:
1- Take your bikes on the train from Monaco to Ventimiglia. Trains in France allow you to take bikes. Cycle then to Ospedaletti, a former fishing town only 10km away and an easy ride, all along the waterfront, to a nice italian breakfast and the "start" of the ride.
2- Cycle from Monaco, all along the coast, past Menton, into Italy, past Ventimiglia and Bordighera to Ospedaletti. That will be a nice warmup of just over 30km of relatively easy riding.
From Ospedaletti on the recently built cycle path along the waterfront to Sanremo. The climb then starts towards Poggio (165mt a.s.l.), then Ceriana (380mt) to reach Baiardo (900mt) and stunning views over the valleys below. Here you can stop at one of the excellent restaurants. A nice meal and coffee later, off towards San Romolo but not before having reached the pass "Passo Ghimbegna" at 1050mt a.s.l. Then ride all the way down a winding road towards Sanremo and back to Ospedaletti.
Our Rates:
1) Ride only: 70€ / Person
2) Ride, Coffee and Lunch (Fixed Menu): 110€ / Person
